While most fans associate Venom with his main host, Eddie Brock, there was another character from the Spider-Man mythos who had a special bond with the alien symbiote, some who became a fan-favorite all his own: Flash Thompson. Inconclusive in my opinion. Eddie was a dishonest man who became good thanks to Venom. Flash, he's undoubtedly the better character, by a long shot. Plus since he has been Venom longer than anybody, he would know all the symbotes tricks.
While Venom helped make Eddie Brock a better man, what he did for Flash Thompson was even better. Thompson has been doing new things with the symbiote and his more militaristic approach that could catch Eddie off guard.
Flash has a bit more skills that will consistently come in handy, but Eddie has a LOT more experience with the Symbiote, so I kind of think they're relatively equal.
Brock worked well as a Spider-man Villain, but his character kinda fell apart during his vigilante years. He's also had far better written stories, and more depth to his internal conflict with the symbiote. Eddie has enough experience to go toe to toe with Flash's military experience, and can probably use his symbiote a lot more creatively and offensively.
However, Flash Thompson was a true hero, a man who sacrificed his legs to save another man. Venom In Other Media Over the years, Eddie Brock, Flash Thompson and Venom have popped up in almost all Spider-Man related content. He picks up again during Anti-Venom, but Flash is far more consistently solid. While Eddie Brock made Venom a famous villain, Flash has had the most interesting time as the character and taken him into a new, fun direction that has done and accomplished more in a much shorter time. Eddie has WAY more experience with the symbiote than flash. Brock should have the advantage.
